Before data rollover was a thing, every telco in Australia took back the data you didn't use from your plan at the end of every month. Virgin Mobile was the only telco that let you carry over your unused data into the next month.
To highlight how unfair this was we created the 'Data Auction', the world's first online auction where unused data was the bidding currency. Our auction place attracted customers of other telcos who came to bid on items using their unused data. By monetising people’s unused data we proved to them how valuable it was and how fair Virgin Mobile is.
